A beautiful hand made pottery bowl glazed with earthy tones from 1976 by Branson G Stevenson (1901-1989).
Branson G. Stevenson of Great Falls, Montana is a well listed American artist. He worked in several mediums with etching, painting and pottery being most notable. He had very important ties to the early founding of the Archie Bray (oldest ceramics residency in the world). The bowl offered here is very much like an early Sung specimen with a thick and textured glaze over a nice robust form. This is the only bowl by Branson G. Stevenson we have found after looking years, so don't let this bowl slip by your collection. This is a rare find and a unique piece from the American Pottery Studio Movement.
Approximate measurements: 6.5” diameter x 1.75” deep
